Description:
Dorset's Kingston Maurward Animal Park has evolved over the last 10 years into a very popular tourist attraction. Children love the wide variety of animals with guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, miniature shetland ponies, donkeys, sheep, cattle, pigs and many others.
Regular interaction with animals takes place during school holidays and at weekends. Children are encouraged to look and learn and have lots of fun with help from experienced staff.
"Keeper talks" take place on a regular basis, to inform visitors about the origin, welfare and habitat of the various animals.
The park has excellent play facilities, together with an extremely popular sand pit for younger children. The extensive grounds provide a beautiful location for picnics.
The garden and Animal Park are open daily from 10 - 5.30 pm (Dusk if earlier) - 5th January to 22nd December 2009.
