The beach has a Blue Flag Award and has recently been extended giving a larger depth of beach for family enjoyment. The sand is pleasantly fine and there is a beach office and R.N.L.I rescue lifeguard cover. This is a vast flat beach with views around the bay and a promenade to take a stroll, taking in many beaches along to the Bournemouth coast. For peace of mind there is a KidZone scheme for finding lost children.

Beach huts and deck chairs are available.

There are ample toilet facilities along this stretch of beach at regular intervals facilitating every need.

The facilities are good and consist of several kiosks along the beach, a shop selling papers, refreshments, toys, clothes and water aids. A very popular restaurant where fine dining can be enjoyed or just a glass of wine on the roof terrace with panoramic sea views. Alongside is also a beach take-away cafe for a quicker getaway.

Wilts and Dorset buses provide an hourly 151 service Monday to Saturday from Poole and Bournemouth. Yellow buses open-topped service number 12 runs through here on its way to Sandbanks.
