Bowleaze Cove is a pebbly beach backed by the cliffs. The location is two miles East of Weymouth off the A353. There is ample paid car parking or you can park on the road for free.This is a good family beach and the water is shallow and safe for swimming. As an extra there is a large expanse of grass for added enjoyment. There is a slipway used by Jet-skiers and the water is zoned to keep water sports enthusiasts and swimmers apart. There is a cafe, shops selling souveniers buckets and spades etc, and a family pub on Bowleaze Coveway, the road running down to the bay. There is also an amusements arcade and funfair. The toilets are in the cafe and in the arcade.
At the top of the hill just above Bowleaze Coveway are the ruins of a Roman Temple at Jordan Hill. The cliffs behind Bowleaze Coveway are part of the South West Coast Path, Britain's longest nature trail.
Regular buses run from Weymouth including and open-topped bus during the Summer.
Dogs are allowed on the beach but owners are respectfully asked to take away any litter.
