Weymouth's  fine Georgian seafront is an impressive backdrop to the beach which has once again received a National Seaside Award for it's cleanliness, safety and good management. There is parking for around 3,000 cars, so there should not be a problem with getting fairly near the beach and the town.

Weymouth  is nationally renowned for it's sweeping fine golden sand that runs the whole length of the town. It's shallow waters  make the beach ideal for families.

This beach has everything you could ask for, and is ideal for every age and every type of weather. Just some of the facilities on offer include, sand, sea, amusements, shops and wet weather entertainments, as well as a sand sculpter, Punch and Judy, a helter-skelter, swing boats, stalls and donkey rides.

There are plenty of public conveiniences at various points right along the seafront.

Weymouth town has a full range of high street shops, chemists, eateries and pubs, plus a theatre, and a multi-screen cinema. There is also a first-aid post, lost children centre and an inshore lifeguard.

Public Transport
provides an hourly rail service from London Waterloo plus regular services from South Wales and Bristol.  National Express runs regular coach services to the resort and local bus firms run continual services in and out of Weymouth and over to Portland.

Dogs are not permitted on to the beach, except in one area, from May 1 until September 30.
