Description:

Hive Beach is a long course sandy beach, overlooked by cliffs and farmland. It is located off the B3157 (Common Lane), just east of Burton Bradstock. Take the Beach Road and the car park is directly ahead. There is a charge during summer, but free out of season.

The beach is very clean and the water clear for swimming, but beware of strong tides and currents. There is also a risk of being cut off by the tide along this beach.

The Hive café  right down on the beach is a popular meeting place, especially at weekends, not just during the summer, but all year round. The menu is extensive, ranging from morning brunch to seafood lunch to Dorset cream tea. The cafe is licenced and has had many mentions in the National press.

Although dogs are not welcome on the beach between May and October, well behaved dogs on a lead, seam to be welcome at the cafe, and after a cool glass of wine you can walk your dog on the cliff top paths.

The X35 bus service runs through Burton Bradstock from Weymouth and Bridport, five times a day and the 110 service runs every Wednesday and Friday. The beach is a short walk from the village.
