Weymouth FC facing adminstration !The "Terras" board need to raise £50,000 by Wednesday evening to placate its most pressing creditors.
Director Ian Ridley told BBC Radio Solent that the club had a mountain of debt that they are chipping away at, but not as quickly as they would like to.
The club are looking for 100 donations of £500 in the "Terras Saviour 100" campaign to raise the money. By Monday lunchtime less than half the target fund had been achieved, requiring a further £25,000 to be raised before the deadline.
Ridly went on to explain the reason why they had managed to avoid adminstration so far. It is because they own the Wessex Stadium but they don't own the land around it. If the club goes into administration then the stadium reverts to the owners of the land and their final asset will be lost. A situation the club clearly does not want.
Anyone wishing to sign up as a member of the Terras Saviour 100 are asked to contact the club. A board meeting will convene at the Wessex Stadium on Wednesday evening to decide if the club should enter administration.
