Description:

Weymouth FC's future in doubt !

The Dorset club who play in the Blue Square South division could be forced to withdraw from the league because of mounting debts.

Barclays Bank  and Carlsberg have demanded repayment of their outstanding debts.

The news broke after former "Terras" chairman Malcolm Curtis, who guaranteed the debts, wrote to the club requesting repayment of a £221,000 loan.

Current Weymouth director Ian Winsor said the club would be unable to make the payments. The Dorset side now have until the 26 October to respond to the claims.

Player-Manager Matt Hale and directors David Higson and Ian Ridley, who is fighting cancer, have all resigned in the past week.

Last season the club was relegated from the Blue Square Premier League.
