Boscombe surf reef delayed !
The long-awaited launch of Europe’s first artificial surf reef will not happen this week, according to Bournemouth tourism chiefs.
It seems that weather conditions are to blame for the continuing delay of the opening of the £3 million tourist attraction at Boscombe off the coast of Dorset.
A tourism spokesman said that the surfing conditions were still not right for the launch, and indicated that they can only get a prediction for the next few days and that it now looks like the reef is unlikely to open this week.
Apparently it’s all down to waiting for a South Westerly ground swel and only time will tell if the conditions are more challenging next week in order to permit RNLI training prior to the launch of the reef.
