Christmas Spirit

08 December 2009

Description:

How to get into the Christmas spirit

Christmas is not long approaching and a sure way to get into the Christmas spirit is to visit Bournemouth’s Christmas market. The market runs from the 19th November to the 3rd January 2010. It is located in Bournemouth’s town square, and is the centre piece to the towns Christmas ambience.

The Christmas market is inspired by the traditional German Markets and has been running for five years now, and this year it promises to be even better. The market is a great place for families to go but has something for everyone on offer.

Each market stall is beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and decorations.

There is traditional German cuisine with a German charcoal BBQ Bratwurst which offers the classic German sausages. There are also- flavoured coffee, roasted chestnuts, sweets and crepe stalls. The crepes are definitely recommended.  There is even a new Alpine Chalet style bar with a beer garden serving German lager and mulled wine. The market features traditional chalets where you can buy traditional crafts and seasonal gifts- an ideal place to buy unique presents for family and friends.

Alongside the market Bournemouth town has plans to host numerous Christmas events including carol singing and brass band performances. This is to ensure entertainment for all throughout this Christmas season.

Children will be pleased to know that Santa is to make an appearance in Bournemouth Square on Sunday the 20th December. He will make his way to the Lower Gardens where families will be able to have their picture taken with him on his sleigh.
