According to a blogging source Gerry Rafferty, who lept to fame as a result of the1978 hit, Baker Street, has supposedly been spotted in Bournemouth. It is reported that the musician has been in hiding whilst living somewhere in the south of England and is being cared for by a friend. Last summer he disappeared from St Tomas's hospital in London.

For years the 61-year-old has battled with alcoholism, but a reader of a website called Ultimate Guitar posted a blog last October saying Rafferty was residing in a hotel in Bournemouth.

However, according to a report by the Press Association, solicitors forthe singer state that the singer is "extremely well " and composing new songs at his home in Tuscany.
