Toby Anstis has mid-morning slot on Heart Radio

Former I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here! contestant Toby Anstis is to become the mid-morning voice as 2CR-FM relaunches as Heart next month.

His well established show which has gone out every weekday on Heart across the South and Midlands for the past six years will follow the popular Breakfast Show hosted by David and Caroline.

"I'm really excited about going to live in Bournemouth. I'm sure we'll be making a real impact there. I'm really glad it's summertime when we launch because it always feels just a little bit better when the sun's shining - I'm sure with its own microclimate by the coast there we'll be on top form."

He got his big break making music programmes for the BBC's Ozone, and presented cricket films for Grandstand before he landed the National Lottery Live.

He said he always wanted to be a disc jockey: When I was a kid I was always listening to the radio. From the age of eight or nine. I loved the fact that the music made me happy and I could hear how much the DJ's were enjoying the music they were playing. It is infectious and it made me want to have a go at it. Funnily enough after university and my psychology degree, I got an unexpected break in television which I hadn't planned at all."

Toby is a massive music fan, always keen to hear the latest releases.
