Free bus for travel to beachfront

A free summer bus service is under way to take rail passengers from a Dorset station to the beachfront.

The number 14 Boscombe park and ride bus service runs every 20 minutes from the newly renamed "Pokesdown for Boscombe" station to Boscombe beach.

The shoreline Travel service began on Saturday and runs until 6 September.

The service is free to anyone with a rail ticket to Pokedown or Bournemouth stations, or those with a long-stay tickets for the Hawkwood Road car park.

The bus travels through the car park every day, but at weekends it also stops at the Littledown Centre.

Of course the bus also accepts fare-paying passengers.
