Description:
The Anchor at Shapwick, in Dorset, was bought by Mark & Roxy Thornton at the end of March 2007. Since then, the premises have been subject to a discreet change, to make the pub area more comfortable, yet remain firmly rural in its feel.
Open fires burn in the bar during the winter months, offering added warmth and atmosphere, whilst the seating areas at the front and to the rear of the building benefit from waiter/waitress service during the warmer weather.
The aim at The Anchor is for you to experience a relaxed visit and to offer you the best of local produce cooked by chef Grant Dirckze and his team.
There are four real ale pumps, with a good range of local beers & a wine list offering a diverse collection of keenly priced bottles.
You can expect a warm welcome. Should you wish to book, telephone on 01258 857 269.
